I’m beginning to realise that my blog posts so far have a bit of a pattern, with me talking about things I’m obsessed with and addicted to. Don’t think I’m giving off a great first impression, but this is me ‘Laurly Lou’. I get obsessed over all the new beauty products that come out, I just have to have every nude eyeshadow palette, and now I will be sharing how I am addicted to buying planners and planner accessories.
I really enjoy looking at the stationary in shops like paperchase, john lewis and tkmaxx. They always seem to have the best variety, and it’s almost guaranteed that I will find something I like there. I’ve always had diaries but they’ve never really been enough, so have just ended up using an app on my phone. But then I was watching a haul video on youtube, and noticed they had a beautiful notebook in the background of the video. I scrolled through the comments to see if anyone had noticed it too, and quite a few people had commented saying it was a ‘Erin Condren Life Planner’. From this point I became the planner addict I am today!
I was then quick to realise that there were loads of different types of planners you can get, and that nearly all of them can be customised. Annoyingly the majority of them can only be bought in America, or through online stores. But with this you get charged an arm and a leg for shipping, and then take the risk of the dreaded custom charge. I searched loads of sites looking at the beautiful planners and finally decided on ordering a ‘Happy Planner’ from a site called Blitsy. And as always in true Laura style, I found a free international delivery code, and also got $10 off because it was my first purchase. I ended up with a planner that came all the way from America, and it cost me just £9…BARGAIN!
I went on to get the holy grail which is the ‘Erin Condren Life Planner’ to me it’s more luxurious and I prefer how it’s on a coil instead of discs. With 2016 over it was time to get a new planner for the new year ahead, after lots of deliberation I finally chose to get the mini version of the ‘Happy Planner’. I chose this one because it’s more handbag friendly and was a more affordable option for me. But did I stop there no of course not, I had to get two of them didn’t I. The floral one I’m using for my personal plans, like meeting up with friends, work, doctors appointments, etc. The polka dot one I’m using for my blog; so planning when new posts go up, jotting down ideas, and just general reminders with anything to do with ‘Laurly Lou’. So far I am really happy with my choice, and much prefer the mini version as it’s just way more practical. My next thing is to try and make a band to go round it, which will keep it closed when in my handbag; then I’m planning to make some stickers for decoration.
So I’m finally satisfied with my planners! That was until I walked into my local Oliver Bonas store, because inside I found a ban.do planner on sale. These are the planners I always drool over in John Lewis, but I’ve never purchased as I can’t justify £30-£40 on one when for the same price I could get another Erin Condren Life Planner instead. They happened to be on sale in Oliver Bonas and were just £12 for the larger sized one, which I got in the cream and gold marbled design. I have now told myself no more, for at least 6 months as I don’t need more than one planner at a time. But then it will be a different story when I walk into a shop and see them discounted, it will be interesting to see if I have the willpower.
Are any of you guys planner addicts like myself? If so what planners do you own?
