My Everyday Makeup Go-To’s

Most days I don’t leave enough time to do my makeup, so it’s normally a bit of a mad rush in the mornings. But I still normally manage to do a full face of makeup, I just sometimes have to skip some steps like contouring. On the days when I do have enough time I have some products which I seem to always gravitate towards everyday.

Face Products-

I first like to put on some moisturiser, the one I currently use is the Neutrogena Visibly Clear. I find I only need to put on a small amount with this one as a little goes along way. I used to use the Benefit Porefessional and loved that primer but since I ran out I replaced it with a cheaper product that being the moisturiser. I am dying to try the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream as I’ve heard it goes really well with the foundation, but its quite expensive and a bit over my budget for a face cream currently. I have two foundations which I’m using at the moment, those being the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation and the Maybelline Fit Me Matte. The Maybelline one has been a firm favourite of mine for a while now, and the Charlotte Tilbury is a new one I’ve been using for a few weeks. They both sit well on my skin, and provide me with a good amount of coverage I am happy with. I would say they were medium to full coverage, but more on the medium scale. I haven’t managed to find a foundation which gives me complete full coverage yet, but one I am eager to try is the Make Up Forever HD Sticks because they apparently give good all over coverage. I use the Kryolan Translucent Powder in shade TL3 to set my foundation, and literally just pat it all over using a powder puff and blend it using a large fluffy brush. For cheeks I like to use the new Benefit Cheek Parade palette, this hasn’t been out for long but ever since I got my hands on it I’ve used it everyday! I am loving the hoola lite shade as its a perfect contour for me; its not to dark and can be layered to create a nice shade for fairer skin tones. I’ve been mixing hoola and hoola lite to create the perfect bronzer/contour colour. You can find out more about this product on my ‘Whats On My Makeup Wishlist?’ blog post.

Eye Products-

My go to eyebrow product is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Promade in the shade Auburn. I’ve been using this for about three years now ever since I saw a tutorial of someone using it on a youtube video. It’s a smudge free cream formula, which is best applied using a slanted eyebrow brush. I tend to do my eyebrows after I’ve done my foundation, then I like to set with powder all over. I have quite a lot of eyeshadows so it can be hard to get through them all, and I find I always go for a certain few and the others just sit there. At the moment I’m using the Stila Mind Palette, and love using the warm toned colours. You can find out a bit more about the Stila palette from a previous post I did here. For eyeliner its also Stila that I use, as it’s a firm favourite and I think it will stay that forever. It stays all day, is smudge free, pigmented, smooth, and just a winner for me! My go-to mascara is currently the Maxfactor Masterpiece Mascara in rich black, I’ve also been using this one for quite some time and love how it gives both length and volume. When I see new mascaras come out I’m always tempted to try them, but I tend to look for ones with similar wands to this one, and seem to talk myself out of getting them if they’re not similar. I do really want to try some new mascaras though, so if anyone has any recommendations please comment below.

Lip Products-

The final touch is the lipstick, and my everyday lipstick go-to is the Maybelline Superstay liquid lipsticks. I love these because they do what they say they do, they stay all day and they don’t transfer. There are some gorgeous colours in the range, and I would say I own about 8 of them now. The shade I’ve been using the most for everyday makeup is shade 615 soft taupe, which is a nude brown colour that would suit all skin tones. I did a more in depth review of these liquid lipsticks here.

So there you have it, they are ‘My Everyday Makeup Go-To’s’. I call them my go-to’s because it’s the products I reach for most if not everyday. Some days when I have more time I will mix it up and like to create eye looks using a few different palettes, and am loving using the NYX lid lingeries at the moment. I plan to do a review on these when I get a few more, because I currently only own one. Thank you again for coming over to my blog, you can find me over at Twitter and Instagram under my tag @laurly_lou.
