A Visit To Longleat Safari Park

As a birthday treat I went to Longleat Safari Park with my best friend. I have wanted to go for a while now, as haven’t been since I was a kid. A few things have changed, and a few animal enclosures have moved around. But the whole experience was just as good as I remember. The safari part was amazing and I loved seeing all the animals so up close. As its winter time not all the animals were out, but the majority of them were thankfully. Unfortunately we didn’t get to see the elephant or gorillas, which is two of the ones I would loved to have seen; but it gives us more of a reason to visit again soon.

We decided to brave it and take the car into the monkey enclosure, which I am so glad we did. We literally laughed the whole way round at how cheeky and adventurous they were. A few of them did climb on to the car, and thankfully they didn’t cause any damage. Unless you can call using the car as their toilet damage, because this they certainly did do. It was really entertaining seeing them sat on the other cars going round, and some of them would just sit on the roofs hoping to go unnoticed. Another favourite part for me was getting to feed the deer, I love seeing deer out in the wild, so being able to feed them was amazing. I must admit I was a bit hesitant at first, but then realised how stupid I was being as they weren’t going to hurt me.

Now I’m sure you would have heard about it, or probably seen the Longleat light show advertised. This was on whilst we were there, and as soon as it got dark we went and had a look. It was amazing, and so much better then I could ever have imagined it. The lights were in different sections, and each had a different theme. One that stood out for me was the beauty and the beast display; it had red roses lined up leading towards the castle where Belle and the Beast stood. It was massive and just looked stunning with all the roses surrounding it. As it got later the park got busier and there were quite a lot of people, but it didn’t ruin the experience, it just made it difficult to get pictures with no people in them. I loved the whole day, and am already planning a day when we can go back. Fingers crossed the next time we go we can see the animals that we didn’t manage to see this time around. Literally counting down the days till I can go back.
