I’ve never really been one of those people who writes a list of goals, and this is really surprising with all the stationary I own! Don’t get me wrong I am all for setting goals, but I just don’t really write them down and keep track. With having a blog I feel it is now the time to set myself some blog goals, because I feel it will help me to be more motivated. It is my blogs 1 year anniversary soon…1 year! I couldn’t actually believe it when I checked, it’s gone way to fast. I did have a large break in the middle, so it hasn’t been a complete year of blogging, but none the less Laurlylou.com has been around for nearly 365 days. So with this big milestone it got me thinking (which isn’t always a good thing) about how it’s gone so far, and has it gone how I thought it would. Now to be totally honest it hasn’t gone as well as I had hoped, but better than I had imagined. I have been really happy with the amount of views I’ve been getting on my posts, I’ve managed to gain a few more twitter and Instagram followers, and I love that I’m getting more interaction with readers on posts and twitter. With it being a new year as well as being the 1 year milestone for my blog, I’m going to give it a go and set some goals. Some things I would love to achieve in the next six months are-
- To reach 500 followers on my Twitter account.
Although this may seem very little to some, to me it would be a great achievement as I started with nothing so reaching 500 would be fab! I have only recently started to use twitter properly, as I never used to get on with it . But I now love it, and am always on there catching up with what everyones been up to.
- To reach 500 followers on Instagram.
This I don’t think I will achieve. I know its bad to be negative and all that, but I find it so difficult to get followers on Instagram. Well, actually I can easily get the followers, but it’s the keeping them part thats the difficult bit. Let me know if this is the same for you guys, but I get say 10 followers in a day, then on the next day say 8 of these have gone. I see a lot of people on twitter saying how thats what it’s like, I just don’t understand it myself. I think maybe it’s because I don’t follow some back, but I always follow bloggers back and accounts where I find their images interesting. I suppose it’s something I will just need to get used to, but reaching a milestone like 500 would just make it all worth it.
- To make some blogger friends.
I often chat to a few other bloggers on Instagram, and I often notice the same people liking, retweeting or commenting on my posts. This doesn’t go unnoticed, and I am always so grateful for the ones who do this. I would love to be able to do a blogger meet up soon and meet some other bloggers, where we can share tips etc.
- Get noticed.
Now this will be a huge goal for a lot of bloggers I’m sure. Like I’ve said previously I’m still new to it all, and there are people out there who are so much better at it than me. But this doesn’t mean that going noticed would mean any less or any more. By this I mean being noticed by a brand, being tagged in a status, receiving blogger mail, getting sponsored, getting a comment on a post, and just being generally noticed by other bloggers, readers, and brands. I get so excited when I get a notification, it just makes my day and makes me realise this is one of the reasons why I enjoy blogging so much.
- Get more motivated and plan ahead more.
Now we all know this is one of those things that is easier said than done. But to be fair to myself I have already started doing this, and for that I am quite impressed. I have an Erin Condren life planner for 2018 and I think this has made a huge difference. I have bought some cute blogging stickers, where I can plan in advance when and what posts are going up. It’s such a nice feeling when you know you have written, edited and scheduled the posts for the whole month; takes the stress away so you can continue to enjoy it.
I am really loving blogging and all that comes along with it. I want to make sure I stick at it and to not let things get in the way of it like I have previously. It’s my outlet and a place I can share the things I love, my thoughts, my feelings, my experiences, and a place to just get creative. So there you have it, there is a few of my goals I have set myself for the first part of 2018. They may not get accomplished, but it will give me something to aim towards which is always a good thing. Thanks again for popping over to LaurlyLou.
