I would definitely have to describe myself as a yoyo dieter. Meaning one minute I’m dieting and losing the weight, and the next I’ve given up and gain it all again and more. I’ve done both slimming world and weight watchers, and have realised slimming world works better for me. I joined a new group a couple of months ago, and I’m really enjoying going along to this one. I’ve been to other ones where I’ve felt uncomfortable, and not felt part of the group. But this one is different, and everyones so welcoming. I didn’t actually realise how important that part of it is, and it has definitely helped with my weight loss journey. So far I’ve lost 11 pounds, which I’m so happy about! It works out about 1.5 pounds a week which I know isn’t as good as it could be, but I’m losing the weight even though it’s not as quick as I had hoped.
I have recently had a few weeks off, have been abroad and then just had time off which has been nice. So as you can imagine I have had quite a few days where I have been off plan! I am disappointed in allowing myself to go back to my old ways, but then I have somewhat balanced it out on other days where I have tried to stick to plan. But I suppose thats what it’s all about sometimes, you can’t religiously stick to plan all the time. It was a holiday for me, so I wanted to enjoy myself and not have to worry about what I should and shouldn’t eat.
A way this slimming world journey is different for me is the fact I have been trying out some of the slimming world recipes, instead of just eating healthy and adjusting the usual meals I eat. Now you haven’t done slimming world if you haven’t heard of diet coke chicken. This is one of the first meals I made, which was so easy to make and gave me good results in my first couple of weeks. Thinking about it I haven’t made it in a long time, so that is one meal I’m definitely making this week. I also really enjoy making soup, and pack it full of speed foods to really help with losing the pounds. My favourite would have to be the spicy roasted root veg one, it’s sooo nice! This one has an extra step in it where you have to roast the veg before you blend, but this really adds to the taste and I promise you it’s worth it. I will apologise now for the quality of some of the pictures, the ones of the food I didn’t actually plan them to feature in a blog post. But I wanted to include some so you could see what meals I’ve been enjoying on slimming world.
I still have a long way to go, but after having this small break I am feeling more determined and motivated than ever. My first target is to lose two stone, and I think thats possible if I put my mind to it again. My next big thing is to get exercising more, as I know that will help me lose the pounds quicker. I try to do walks, as its one of my favourite things to do…go off on a walk and take in the scenery. So I want to carry on doing what I enjoy, but try some more challenging ones to test myself and get this weight off!
